Brazil / GermanyMaxion Wheels GmbH of Königswinter, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany has announced that it is developing a simulation of its light vehicle aluminium wheel production process at its plant in Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil which will work in parallel and will allow the company to identify and resolve potential problems in the real production line.

The simulation will work according to the principle of the ‘digital twin’; that is to say, it will provide a visual representation that will serve as a digital counterpart, working in real-time, of a physical process. In this case, the digital twin will simulate the wheel production line, running in parallel with the actual manufacturing process. The point, Maxion states, is to allow engineers to anticipate how the production line performs under certain conditions and to make improvements to efficiency where possible.
