South Korea's EnPlus to produce medium-sized e-buses in the Philippines

South Korea / Philippines – South Korean special purpose vehicle (SPV) manufacturer EnPlus Company Ltd plans to invest PHP5bn (USD99m) in an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant in the Philippines, according to local reports. 

In October, EnPlus’ CEO Young Yong Ahn signed a preliminary agreement to set up a manufacturing facility in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) of Negros Occidental, in the Visayas region of the Philippines. The company plans to produce battery-powered “Jeepney” medium-duty public transport vehicles as well as private passenger vehicles.
