Iran – Sold under the brand name SHETAB, the Tehran-based Parsan Electrical Bus Manufacturing Company (a joint venture between MAPNA Group and Oghab Afshan Industrial and Manufacturing Company of Tehran) has announced the completion of the first-ever Iranian-produced electric bus, the Zima. In addition, the Zima is the first electric vehicle to be manufactured in Iran.

The firm states that the 12m bus has a range of 250km, and the 318kWh li-ion battery can be fully charged in as little as half an hour on a 600kW charger. The drivetrain is produced by MAPNA Group, with the body and trim manufactured by Ogshab Afshan. Final assembly is completed by Parsan.
