Cummins launches JV with Sinopec to produce hydrogen electrolysers in China

USA / China – Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana, has announced the formation of a 50:50 joint venture with China Petrochemical Corp, a subsidiary of the Sinopec Group¹ based in Beijing, China.

The new company, named Cummins Enze, is to be located in Foshan, Guangdong Province, and plans to establish a USD47 million manufacturing site to produce proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers. Foshan is also one of China’s first listed areas to be supported by the central government to pilot and grow the hydrogen industry.
