An Interview with Roberto Leoncini, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Trucks and Buses at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil brings us up to date on business in 2021 and expectation for 2022

Brazil - In the period from January to December 2021, Mercedes-Benz sold 33,089 trucks in Brazil, which corresponds to a growth of 23.7% in relation to the same period last year. Grain transportation, e-commerce, mining, civil construction, and logistics were the main activities that motivated this level of sales in Brazil. Roberto Leoncini, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Trucks and Buses at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda commenting on the market trend said: “These segments should continue to stimulate demand for trucks during 2022, but perhaps at a slower pace. Furthermore, it is important to remember that, in 2023, new environmental legislation will come into force in Brazil, which should bring some purchases forward to 2022 and result in further heating of the market.”
