Philippines / Brazil - Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus Co Ltda ( (VWCO - Volkswagen Truck and Bus) of Resende, Brazil (a member of the Traton Group) in January said it plans to enter the Philippine commercial vehicle market this year through the local MAN truck distributor (also a subsidiary of Traton), MAN Automotive Concessionaires Corporation (MACC) of Quezon City (Manilla), the Philippines.

MACC, which has been the local MAN truck distributor for over thirty years, said it would import in a broad range of truck configurations ranging between 9 tons to 31 tons gvw, powered by Euro V-compliant MAN and Cummins engines. The VW trucks will initially be imported fully built up from the factory in Resende, but MACC said that at some stage it also plans to assemble Volkswagen commercial vehicles locally in the Philippines.
