Cummins to open fuel-agnostic engine R&D site in UK

UK – Cummins Inc, based in Columbus, Indiana, USA, has announced it will open a new Powertrain Test Facility at its Darlington, UK campus. Ground preparation work has begun on the site, with the firm expecting the first phase of the GBP14 million investment expected to open for operations by May 2023.

The facility is designed to be fuel agnostic, enabling Cummins to develop and test a range of power technologies. This announcement follows the recent news that Cummins is developing a fuel agnostic engine platform able to run from either hydrogen, natural gas, or diesel.
