Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Comil partnership export buses to west Africa

Mercedes-Benz Comil two door city bus for The Gambia

Brazil - Mercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo (SP) and Brazilian bodybuilder, Comil Ônibus S.A.* of Erechim (RS), are developing city buses for export to the Gambia in west Africa, a first for the two companies.

Following a formal partnership agreement, the two companies have now exported ten units for public transport operations in the Gambia. The city buses will comprise Comil’s Svelto bus body mounted on Mercedes-Benz’s OF 1730 chassis. The city buses are expected to start operating in the first half of this year with the Gambia Transport Service Company (GTSC) customer fleet.
