Chennai – Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV) of Oragadam, near Chennai, a subsidiary of Germany’s Daimler AG, has entered a partnership with CERO – owned by Mahindra MSTC Recycling Private Ltd (MMRPL)1 - a scrappage and steel recycling joint venture with facilities to help operators to ‘recycle’ their older vehicles as a part of the purchasing process of new BharatBenz vehicles. DICV says all BharatBenz dealerships can now take advantage of CERO’s platform for scrapping customers’ End of Life Vehicles (ELVs).

Satyakam Arya, managing director & CEO, DICV commenting on this agreement, said: “Scrappage is an important step towards reducing carbon footprint and old, polluting vehicles from Indian roads, which is the need of the hour. This is an opportunity for customers to replace their old fleet with new, BS VI emissions compliant BharatBenz trucks, manufactured locally in India with a high standard of safety, quality, comfort and state of the art technology. We see great potential for new truck sales with the effective implementation of the Scrappage Policy.”
