Renault Trucks UK premiers multi-modal van for last-mile operations

The E-Tech Master OptiModale by Renault Trucks

UK Renault Trucks UK, the Warwick, UK-based subsidiary of truck manufacturer Renault Trucks SAS, launched a new multi-modal solution for last-mile operations employing a van, a cargo bike and a drone at the ITT Hub exhibition in Farnborough, UK, held 11-12 May.

The ‘E-Tech Master OptiModale’ is seemingly a conventional battery-electric box truck in the 3.5-ton segment; however, two compartments open on the left side of the vehicle to reveal storage and charging spaces for a pair of very different vehicles. On the box floor is an electric cargo bike, the ‘eBullitt’, supplied by a small Copenhagen-based firm called Larry vs Harry; directly above the bike is a compact space for a parcel-carrying drone built by UAVTek Ltd of Cheltenham, UK.
