Indian light-duty truck market shows signs of improvement with 19% gain in Q4

India - Sales in India of light-duty trucks (GVW ≤ 7.5t) grew by 19.0% to 148,890 units in Q4 of FY2021-22 (January to March 2022), up from 125,160 units in same period last year. Production increased by 17.2% to 166,404 units (141,939), while exports grew by 47.8% to 17,000 (11,503).

Domestic sales in the lightest truck segment (GVW ≤ 2t) increased by 25.6% to 55,433 units in Q4, up from 44,149 units in Q4 a year prior. Production increased by 25.2% and export sales dropped by 7.1%.
