Aspoeck UK ventures into solar power modules for full CV range

UK - Aspoeck UK Ltd of Stortford, UK (a subsidiary of Aspoeck Systems GmbH of Peuerbach, Austria) is now offering a modular solar panel charging system for commercial vehicles ranging from vans to trailers as well as buses and coaches.

Michell explained the solar panel project had taken approximately four years of development with a solar power manufacturer that had not previously had applications in the automotive segment. Mitchell said the smaller systems to date had proven most popular with sales of some 1,000 units and that these were mainly to operators of refrigerated trailer units for keeping the 12V battery in the TRU topped up with power. Another reason for this module’s popularity, Mitchell added, was because of the smaller capital expenditure requirement; the return on investment period being between just one year and 18 months, depending on the operational use of the trailer.
