Indonesian truck sector upgrades to Euro IV

Indonesia - Truck manufacturers operating in Indonesia have been forced to upgrade their product ranges to comply with new emissions regulations that came into effect in the country in April (2022). The stricter emissions standards were scheduled to be introduced in 2020 but implementation was delayed by the government due to the Covid pandemic.

Euro IV standards require the use of common rail diesel engines in combination with exhaust aftertreatment systems including diesel oxidation catalysts (DOC) to cut carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon emissions, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems to reduce NOx emissions and in some cases selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.
