Otokar invests in KTL facilities and broadens R&D testing capabilities to include EVs and 21m long city buses

Turkey - With a regular capital expenditure in manufacturing and an R&D investment of 8% of annual revenue on over the past decade (equivalent to EUR296m), Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.Ş (Otokar) today has some of the most advanced production and research and development facilities at its factory in Sakarya, Turkey.

In the past year Otokar has opened (August 2021) a brand new purpose-built cataphoresis facility and made several further enhancements to the R&D facilities including an extension to the climate chamber (March 2022) to allow articulated city buses of 21m to be tested; as well as adding ‘SORT’ test driving cycles* for electric buses and trucks.
