Turkey / USA - At Busworld Turkey last month, 55 year-old-bus builder, Güleryüz (Güleryüz Karoseri San Ve. Tic. A.S.) of Bursa, Turkey announced its focus for this year as electrifying its portfolio of single and double deck buses for Europe and the USA.

Export director, Irfan Yücelaş at the show in Istanbul announced that an electric version of its 8.5m Low Entry Ecoline had been developed during 2021 and that three units had since been built and shipped to the USA as part of initial an order for 20 vehicles with options for a further 80 units. The 37 passenger vehicles, which have had to be modified and built to USA size and dimensions, said Yücelaş, are being distributed through a dealer partnership under the name of Guleryuz America. Yücelaş says it has been working with ZF and BMW predominantly for the electric driveline, batteries, and BMS.
