Renault and TVS to build UK’s first electric mixer truck

Electric mixer truck developed by Renault and TVS for Tarmac
UK – Renault Trucks UK of Warwick, UK has announced that it is working with Total Vehicle Solutions Group Ltd of Wisbech to supply Solihull-based construction material supplier Tarmac Ltd with a battery-electric mixer truck, which Renault Trucks claims will be the UK’s first such vehicle to enter operation.
The concrete mixer body will be mounted onto a 26-tonne D Wide chassis, powered by a 265-kWh battery system. According to Renault Trucks, the energy capacity offered is enough to meet the power draw requirements of the mixer while also providing a range of up to 120 km. With fast charging within 1.5 and 2 hours, the vehicle is reportedly able to match the normal delivery profile of a conventional mixer truck.
