Hon Hai (Foxconn) to build EV battery development and production centre in Taiwan

Foxconn announces battery factory and bus project with Kaohsiung Bus Co

Taiwan / USA - Hon Hai Precision Industry Company (trading as Foxconn internationally) of Tucheng, New Taipei City, Taiwan, has announced it plans to invest TWD6bn (USD200m) in a new electric vehicle (EV) battery development and production centre in the island’s southern port city of Kaohsiung to underpin its expansion into the local automotive industry.

The company, also known as Apple’s leading contract manufacturer Foxconn, aims to become a significant player in the global electric vehicle (EV) industry through its recently-established Foxtron Vehicle Technologies.
