Arrival gains EU type approval for light van

Arrival Van - now EU certified

UK - Arrival Ltd of London, UK (NASDAQ: ARVL), says it has achieved European Union Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EUWVTA) for its van. Arrival said that completing all the required functional and safety testing to achieve EUWVTA was a critical step towards starting trials with customers, which would take place in the coming months, the company stated. It also announced that it plans to start production of the Arrival Van in Bicester, UK as soon as the third quarter of 2022. (However, apart from repeatedly stating it has signed 140,000 non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) orders for the new van, it would appear that there is no orders as yet for the vehicle).

Arrival stated its van is purpose-designed to be sustainable and economically efficient when compared with traditional vans, adding the van is made using unique lightweight composite materials, which are recyclable, durable and lower in cost. It added its advanced in-house hardware and software technologies provide operators with data and tools needed to optimise fleet operations.
