First Hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system

UK / CanadaFirst Hydrogen Corp of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada has announced that it will start testing its fuel-cell electric demonstrator vehicles at the end of July in the UK, ahead of first customer deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2022 and pilots shortly thereafter.

The vehicles are built on MAN eTGE van platforms and fitted with First Hydrogen’s FCE1 fuel cell propulsion system. The trials are part of a wider project, the ‘UK Aggregated Hydrogen Freight Project’, which aims to accelerate the rollout of hydrogen-powered vans and trucks along with the requisite infrastructure. It is supported by manufacturers such as Hyundai and Toyota and organisations including energy consultancy Element Energy. According to First Hydrogen, 10 customers have expressed an interest in participating in UK pilot tests early next year.
