Daimler India celebrates 10 years since establishment

IndiaDaimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, marked the 10-year anniversary of its foundation on 28 June 2022 and announced plans to achieve carbon-free operations in the country by 2025. 

The company employs over 4,000 staff at its manufacturing plant in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu and at offices throughout the subcontinent. It builds and sells trucks and buses between 9 and 55 tons under the ‘BharatBenz’ brand, as well as distributing Mercedes-Benz coaches in India. Parts and vehicles produced at Oragadam also serve the Fuso and Freightliner brands. So far, DICV has achieved domestic sales of more than 125,000 units and has exported 50,000 (of which 35,000 are Fuso-branded vehicles), together with 200 million+ parts to over 60 countries.
