More than 20,000 Cummins engines installed in Otokar buses and coaches

Cummins and Otokar celebrating outside Darlington engine plant in the UK

UK / Turkey – On 18 July, Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana, USA and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AŞ (“Otokar”) of Sakarya, Turkey celebrated a 16-year partnership which has seen more than 20,000 Cummins engines installed in Otokar buses and coaches.

Since the first installation in 2006 – a Euro-IV standard ISB 4.5 in a ‘Sultan’ midi-bus – Cummins diesel and natural gas engines have been offered in the majority of Otokar’s city and inter-city buses and its tourist coaches. Approximately 90% of buses produced in Sakarya have been installed with Cummins F2.8, B4.5 and B6.7 diesel engines and L9N gas engines. The occasion was marked by the presentation of a celebratory plaque to Otokar from staff at Cummins’ engine plant in Darlington, UK.
