Brazil – Construction company, Andrade Gutierrez Engenharia S.A., of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais State, in partnership with Volvo Trucks Latin America Ltda., located in Curitiba (Paraná State) and ACR Safety Solutions for Load Lifting and Handling Ltda (ACR) of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo State, has launched an unmanned remote-controlled autonomous tipper truck for higher risk works in the mining and heavy-duty construction market segments. The truck, which, for safety reasons, is currently limited to operations in confined areas without pedestrians, is named 4.ZERO, in reference to the engineering of the future.

The new 4.ZERO 6x4 autonomous truck with 42 tons gross vehicle weight has been developed using Volvo's FMX heavy off-road construction truck model, with smart grid integration to limit its autonomous operation within a set perimeter.
