Brazil / Argentina - The supply of 400 Sprinter Ambulance vans to Brazil’s emergency services (SAMU) recently - see separate article - coincided with the celebration of the 25th sales anniversary and launch of the Sprinter van in Brazil by Mercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo. The vehicle, the brand's first transport vehicle to receive its own name, was launched in Brazil in 1997, two years after its launch in Germany. It also celebrates a production of 180,000 units.

The Sprinter, which has been manufactured in the Juan Manuel Fangio Industrial Center in Virrey del Pino, Argentina, since 1996, is built in many versions for passenger and goods transportation. Today, it is offered in a wide range of models based on passenger van, goods van, and chassis cab designs with a total of 87 possible configurations from which to choose.
