Volvo Trucks piloting electric vehicles with Ikea

Volvo FM Electric truck to be piloted by Ikea

Sweden / PolandVolvo Trucks Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden has signed a collaboration agreement with Ikea Industry and the Raben Group, committing to the provision of heavy-duty electric trucks which will operate between two Ikea factories in Poland as part of a pilot test. 

Two FM Electric trucks will be deployed to handle the internal flow of goods between two factories located 14 kilometres apart in Zbąszynek and Babimost in western Poland. They will be charged at the facilities using renewable electricity from an external source. One of the vehicles will begin operation this autumn.
