Assembly of an electric truck at Volvo's plant in Tuve, Sweden

SwedenVolvo Trucks Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden announced on 14 September that it has started series production of its heavy-duty electric vehicle range, based on the FH, FM, and FMX truck models.

Series production has begun at the manufacturer’s facility in Tuve, near its Swedish headquarters. Production at the plant in Ghent, East Flanders, Belgium will follow next year. Batteries for the electric trucks produced at both facilities will also be assembled in Ghent, at a new site. The production line for the electric trucks will be shared with other truck types, which Volvo claims provides high production flexibility and efficiency gains.
