Scania P 280 CNG truck

Brazil – From November 2022, Scania Latin America Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo is to offer its Scania P280 gas-powered truck designed specifically for operations in Brazil’s sugar cane segment as part of its strategy to offer low carbon solutions to the market.

Typically, trucks in this sector need good traction with a low roof height cab, the most suitable for the sugarcane segment, although a sleeper cab is an option. The rigid truck P280 model has a double drive 6x4 configuration and is fitted with Scania’s proven  9.3-litre five-cylinder engine offering an output of 280hp at 1,900 rev/min and 1,380Nm of torque, matched with a Scania GRS900 automated 12+2 speed gearbox and retarder brake system with braking power of up to 500 hp. It fitted with eight gas tanks giving 220 m³ of fuel that guarantee, according to Scania, a range of up to 500 km.
