First Hydrogen vans gain road certification in Britain

First Hydrogen demonstrator model

UK / Canada – First Hydrogen Corporation of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, has announced its light commercial vehicles (LCVs) have received type approval certification by the Vehicle Certification Authority (VCA) in Britain; which means customer trials on public roads can commence in January 2023. During the next 24 months, the company will collect data from 13 UK fleet operators who will operate the vehicles.

The company expects the two demonstrator vehicles will showcase the advantages fuel cell electric vehicles have over battery electric vehicles in terms of range and refuelling speed. First Hydrogen vehicles offer 400-600 km of range on a single refuelling, which takes just a few minutes. First Hydrogen aims to expand its vehicle demonstrator programme in the European Union, Canada, and the United States next year, working in conjunction with its green hydrogen generation distribution (“Hydrogen as a Service”) programme to solve infrastructure shortfalls.
