First tailored Iveco Hi-Way gas-powered trucks hit Brazil’s roads as part of industry-government initiative

Iveco natural gas or biomethane 6x2*2 tractor unit

Brazil - Iveco América do Sul Ltda of Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais has supplied the first seventeen CNG tractor units, out of an order of 20, to Unidas, one of the largest Brazilian rental companies, as part of the company’s recent BRA 60 million drive to push sales of trucks powered using natural gas or biomethane. The sale is part of a part government-funded consortium project to encourage sale of natural gas and bio methane powered vehicles.

The 17 Hi-Way NG 6X2*2 600S46T trucks, which is powered using FPT Industrial’s Cursor 13 460 hp engine, is part of the recently launched Brasil Natural Power programme in September, which involved a consortium of companies spending some 70,000 hours to optimize the drivetrain for best power/consumption for use in Brazil.
