UK – Compressor, blower and vacuum pump manufacturer, Gardner Denver Ltd has invested GBP3.5 million into its Cross Lane, Bradford, UK facility, amalgamating two locations responsible for the design, assembly, testing and installation of its products under one roof. Besides the increased efficiency and cost saving of not having to lease a separate property, the Cross Lane facility, which is operational, will also focus on electrified drives and the integration of the company’s compressor packages into the hybrid and electric vehicle market.

Having made the decision to consolidate production in October 2020, developers broke ground in March 2021 with staff, machinery and inventory gradually migrated to ensure no drop in supply. Production lines, test booths and eight key machines were moved, responsible for the company’s oil free screw and vane machines as well as the larger water cooled, oil lubricated products. Existing units have been refurbished, increasing the site’s machining capacity and lowering the site’s energy consumption
