Sweden Modul-System HH AB, a manufacturer of racking systems and equipment for light commercial vehicles based in Mölndal, Sweden, has launched a new seat with a more durable, fire-resistant covering and a new design which it claims provides greater comfort.

The ‘Jump Seat’ has a surface fabric made of two types of vinyl.1 The seat is coated with Permablok3, a protective layer produced by Spradling that reduces wear and germ spread. Modul-System claims that the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus decreases by 90% within an hour of making contact with the seat fabric. All the materials used in the seat adhere to fire safety requirements (FMVSS3022), following comprehensive fire testing. Modul-System also states that the vinyl is sourced from a carbon-neutral manufacturer in Europe and is completely replaceable. In addition, Modul-System has built the chair’s framework from steel which is highly durable and recyclable. The seat is made according to a new lightweight design with an elongated head portion, which Modul-System claims is more comfortable for the user.
