China - Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor Group based in Liuzhou in China’s Guangxi province, says it has delivered 300 battery-powered Chenglong H5 heavy-duty long-haul tractors to a local steel company based in Handan, Hebei province.

The Chenglong H5 trucks are powered by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd’s (CATL) lithium-iron-phosphate swappable batteries with a capacity of 282KWh. The trucks, with this storage capacity, have a maximum range of 200km on a single charge and, according to the company, the batteries can be swapped in just five minutes, ensuring an almost continuous up-time in a 24 hour day.
