Volvo creates new joint venture for automated tyre pressure monitoring

Roman Iustin, CEO of new joint venture Fyrqom

SwedenAB Volvo, a commercial vehicle corporation based in Gothenburg, Sweden, has announced the establishment of a joint venture with Qamcom Group, a firm also based in Gothenburg which offers consultancy services to technology start-ups. Called Fyrqom AB, the new company will focus on developing automated systems for tyre pressure monitoring in heavy-duty vehicles.

Fyrqom was born from the idea of a Volvo engineer named Roman Iustin, who successfully garnered support from Volvo’s start-up incubator, ‘CampX’, to spin-out a new business venture. The joint venture will be split three ways between Volvo Group, Qamcom Group, and Iustin, who will serve as CEO of Fyrqom.
