Inobat to build gigafactory in Serbia

Plans for the Inobat Serbia Factory

Serbia / Slovakia – Having already established its Serbian subsidiary, InoBat Auto Beograd of Bratislava, Slovakia, battery manufacturer, InoBat Auto, has announced plans to build a gigafactory for manufacturing and recycling of battery cells for EVs in Serbia, represented by a declaration of intent signed with the Serbian government.

Aside from financial support, the Serbian government will assist in finding land to build the facility and securing the necessary permits/licenses required for construction and operation. Since January this year, the International Finance Corporation (a division of the World Bank) has been supporting early-stage project development through its green energy fund. Expected to be completed during 2023, the company is currently developing its main R&D facility in Voderady, Slovakia, as the focal point of a global network of gigafactories based on its “cradle-to-cradle” circular value chain, which integrates chemistry research, cell development, battery production and material recycling in one location.
