DAF delivers the first of 879-military truck order to the Belgian Armed Forces

Belgium / Netherlands / Czech Republic – In collaboration with Czech vehicle manufacturer, Tatra Trucks (a subsidiary of Tatra-Servis ZAO), Dutch truck manufacturer, DAF Trucks NV of Eindhoven, Netherlands, has delivered the first CF military trucks to the Belgian Armed Forces. This is the first of an 879-order comprising 636 two-axle 4x4 trucks for general transportation purposes and 243 four-axle 8x8 trucks for specific applications such as tipping, container transport and crane operation. Of these, 350 are fitted with armoured cabs, supplied by Tatra Trucks, offering high levels of protection from gunfire and other potentially lethal objects, with all the vehicles set to be delivered by 2025.

Produced at the DAF factor in Westerlo, Belgium, the trucks are powered by a 10.8-litre PACCAR MX-11 (4x4) or a 12.9-litre PACCAR MX-13 (8x8) engine, with an output of 300 kW/410 hp and 340 kW/460 hp respectively.
