AMTE Power to ramp up battery cell production in Coventry ahead of Dundee factory opening in 2025

Ultra High Power cells

UKAMTE Power plc, a manufacturer of battery cells based in Milton Park, UK, announced in October a production contract with the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre1 (UKBIC) which would see up to 60,000 cells being manufactured per year near Coventry.

According to the agreement, AMTE Power can request that UKBIC manufacture its proprietary ‘Ultra High Power’ cells at its Coventry facility over an initial period of two years. Production ramp-up is set to begin in January 2023. AMTE Power states that the contract with UKBIC will allow the company to swiftly enter the market with its product and generate revenue to support its long-term plans.
