Tevva truck receives type approval, kicking off customer deliveries

UKTevva Motors Ltd of Tilbury, UK has announced its 7.5-tonne electric truck has received European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval, meaning that Tevva can go ahead with producing and delivering its final-specification trucks to customers. 

Tevva stated that it secured type approvals for both the EU and the UK from the Swedish Transport Agency and the Vehicle Certification Agency. The 7.5-tonne truck underwent 30 system tests, including electric safety and electromagnetic compatibility, in order to gain approval. According to the press release, this final-spec truck has a range of up to 140 miles (227 km) provided by a 105-kWh battery system.
