UK – Back in November, Vertellus Ltd, a new venture by Renault Trucks UK of Warwick and its British distributors, unveiled a programme intended to educate and support fleet operators in transitioning to electric transportation.

The new limited company is owned by a group of Renault Trucks distributors (60%) and Renault Trucks UK (40%). It is initially offering 30 vehicles weighing 16 to 18 tonnes, with box, curtainsider and temperature-controlled bodies. As part of the ‘EV Discovery Programme’, customers have the opportunity to hire electric trucks for three months, only paying based on their usage (up to a minimum of 3,000 kWh per month or just over 3,300 kilometres per month). Box and curtainsider trucks will be charged £1.50 per kWh and refrigerated trucks £1.90 per kWh. The cost includes all standard full contract hire services, including a 24/7 helpline.
