VWCO delivers the first electric truck built for aircraft refuelling in Brazil

Brazil - Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus Ltda (VWCO) of Resende, Rio de Janeiro has built and delivered Brazil’s first all-electric aircraft refuelling truck, based on the Volkswagen E-Delivery 11 model. The truck has been delivered to the Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus, in the Amazon region and after a testing and training period of the company's employees, the electric vehicle began operating fully on December 12, bringing the jet-A fuel to the customer BR Aviation. (The vehicle was developed in consultation and in partnership with Pioneer Fuels, BR Aviation (part of energy supply company, Vibra Energia Business Unit (and a licensed brand of Petrobras) and VWCO).

The E-Delivery 11 offers 11.4-ton gvw capacity and comes with a 300 kW electric motor and three LFP battery modules totalling 105kWh storage capacity and capable of providing autonomy of up to 110km. It is also fitted with an ePTO system, which provides power to drive the fuel transfer system pump. VWCO states: “This truck, which is the first 100% developed and produced in the country, brings state-of-the-art technology to ensure high levels of comfort, efficiency, and onboard productivity, and meet all safety requirements.”
