Yutong orders fell by 28% in 2022

China – Zhengzhou Yutong Group Co Ltd (“Yutong”), a manufacturer primarily of buses and coaches based in Zhengzhou, Henan, reported that in 2022, it delivered 30,198 units in total, a considerable decrease compared to its performance the year prior (41,828 units).
While the company’s overall performance was much weaker in 2022, the proportion of sales of its “new energy vehicles” (i.e., battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, and fuel-cell electric) improved significantly. While it delivered 12,571 such vehicles in 2021, in 2022 it reported deliveries of 12,414 units – a 41% share of the total (compared to 30% in 2021).
