Johnson Matthey and Plug Power to build a joint fuel cell components manufacturing facility in the USA

UK / USA - Johnson Matthey Plc* (JM) of London, a specialist chemicals company which manufactures catalysts, pharmaceutical materials, and pollution control systems, has signed an agreement with Plug Power Inc**, a producer of fuel-cell systems and electrolysers of Latham, New York, to build a joint 5GW catalyst coated membranes (CCM) manufacturing facility in the USA in 2025. CCM is a component in the production of fuel cells. In the interim, JM will supply Plug Power with MEA*** components, allowing the latter to produce catalysts, membranes, and catalyst-coated membranes (CCM).
