UKWrightbus Ltd of Ballymena, UK has announced an order for 104 electric buses – primarily double deckers – from Newcastle upon Tyne-based operator Go-Ahead Group plc, who will put them into service in the city of Oxford.

99 double deck and 5 single deck ‘Electroliner’ battery-electric buses will take Oxford’s fleet of zero-emission buses up to 159 vehicles from late 2023. Eight of the double deck buses will have open tops for use in tourist services. More than GBP30m is being invested in the buses by Go-Ahead, in addition to a GBP82.5m sum provided by the government’s ‘Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas’ (ZEBRA) scheme to Oxford County Council.
