Watt Electric Vehicle Company unveils new electric cab-chassis platform

The eCV1 by Watt Electric Vehicle Company

UK – New company Watt Electric Vehicle Company Ltd has unveiled a proprietary 3.5-tonne cab-chassis for commercial vehicle applications which is based on its ‘e-platform’ or modular electric vehicle architecture.

The ‘eCV1’ is a light-duty truck platform designed to accommodate a range of different applications, including drop-side trucks, panel vans, and Luton vans. The cab features an unusual design choice: a central driving position, which Watt claims will make it safer for the driver by allowing them to easily exit from either side. The customer can choose whether they would like one, two, or three seats in the cab. In addition, the A-pillars have been repositioned inboard to reduce frontal area and drag.
