Westport to build hydrogen manufacturing and R&D centre in China

Canada / China – Westport Fuel Systems Inc, a manufacturer of gas engines based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, has announced it will be building a new manufacturing facility and “innovation center” for hydrogen combustion products in Changzhou, Jiangsu, near the city of Shanghai in China.
Westport has committed to investing up to USD10m a year over the next decade to support the construction and development of the new site, which it will undertake together with the local authority. The site will comprise a manufacturing facility for hydrogen fuel systems, offices, and a research and development centre. The products made here will supply the Chinese market for a variety of applications, including commercial vehicles.
