Volta Zero receives European type approval

Sweden – Volta Trucks AB of Stockholm, Sweden has announced that its upcoming 16-tonne electric truck has received European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA), which certifies the truck for serial production and commercialisation in the European Union.

The latest “Production Verification” prototype models are being delivered across Europe for customer pilots. Type approval for the final series model means that Volta Trucks can start producing the trucks at volume. The company announced that series production is set to begin in the second quarter of this year at the contract manufacturing facility in Steyr, Upper Austria.
