Recovering bus and coach markets home and abroad in 2022 delivers healthy performance for Marcopolo

Brazil – Brazilian bus and coach body builder, Marcopolo S.A. of Caxais do Sul, Brazil, unveiled strong results for 2022, registering BRA 5.415 billion (USD1.04bn) in revenue, an increase of 54.8% to BRA 3.499 billion (USD672m) in 2021. Stating that there was a strong market recovery for vehicles at home and abroad, it reported domestic sales of BRA 3,179 billion (USD611m) or 58.7% of total revenues (2021: BRA 1.784 billion) with BRA 2.236 billion (USD423m) coming from its businesses abroad, 30.4% (2021: BRA 1.715 billion).

Gross profit totalled BRA 829.5 million (USD160m), a 132% increase over 2021 of BRA 356 million (USD69m) and 15.3% of net revenue. EBITDA reached BRA 385.6 million (USD74m) in 2022, representing a 7.1% margin. Net profit totalled BRA 436.8 million (USD84m) for the year, representing a net margin of 8.1% and a 21.9% increase when compared with 2021 of BRA 358 million (USD69m).
