CP Foton to build CV assembly plant in Thailand

Thailand / China - Chinese truck builder, Foton Motor Inc of Beijing plans to build a new commercial vehicle assembly plant in Thailand using its Bangkok-based CP Foton Sales Company, a local joint venture established in 2019 with Thailand’s CP Group.

The joint venture’s managing director, Kritsana Settharangkul in January confirmed that an initial THB1bn (USD30m) is to be invested to build a facility with an initial assembly  capacity for 3,000 vehicles per year, including battery-powered and conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks, buses and vans - for sale domestically and for export to other markets in the ASEAN region.
