Einride set to deliver electric fleet to the UAE

Plans for the Falcon Rise grid in the UAE

UAE / Sweden – Swedish software development company and autonomous vehicle fleet operator, Einride AB*, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) to deploy 8 electric vehicle charging stations (500 charging points) over 550 km, with 2,000 electric delivery vehicles (of which 200 will be autonomous) across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah over the next five years. This is part of the UAE’s strategy to fast-track sustainable transport and shipping in the region and is known as “the Falcon Rise grid project.”

The 550 km Falcon Rise grid project is based on a grid system planned, optimised and monitored using the Einride Saga platform. The grid simplifies the management of road freight, removes industry inefficiencies, provides uninterrupted operations and significantly reduces emissions within the region, according to Einride.
