Volta Trucks to launch electric truck pilots in Sweden in mid-2023

Volta Zero on the road in Sweden

SwedenVolta Trucks AB of Stockholm, Sweden has announced that it will put its medium-duty battery electric trucks on the road in its home country in the middle of this year, much earlier than the original plan to launch in 2024.

Within the next several months, ‘Volta Zero’ trucks from the company’s “customer experience fleet” will enter pilot testing with Swedish transport operators. Volta Trucks is targeting larger cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, where medium-duty trucks are reportedly the most common vehicles used for goods transportation. The decision to bring the launch forward was motivated by increased demand and rapidly growing interest among Scandinavian operators, according to Volta Trucks.
