Volvo increases battery capacity for FL and FE Electric trucks by 42%

Volvo FE Electric

Sweden Volvo Trucks Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden has announced that its medium to heavy ‘FL’ and ‘FE’ battery electric trucks are now available with batteries offering 42% extra energy capacity, thus increasing their range.

As a result of the increased energy storage, the FL Electric can now travel up to 450 kilometres on a single charge. The range of the FE Electric is extended up to 275 kilometres. Customers can choose to have fewer battery packs installed, thus increasing payload while maintaining a suitable range for short distance trips. Removing a single battery pack will free up 500 kg of extra payload.
