Portable hand-held tyre tread scanner hits the UK market

TreadReader

UK – AES UK (Automotive Equipment Solutions) of Wakefield, has introduced a portable hand-held tyre scanner (called the TreadReader HD) allowing CV operators to measure tyre tread depth creating a detailed scan of each tyre to within 0.2 mm. Using the TreadManager app, the scanner calculates tyre tread depths using 3D colour-coded imagery showing tyre conditions, tread warnings and any safety alerts including under-inflations, wheel alignment issues or damages. TreadManager can also be integrated into workshop management systems. The company claims that the scanner works on all tyre brands and in all weather conditions.

This product aims to speed up vehicle maintenance, prevent potential accidents and reduce vehicle downtime as the company is targeting vehicle workshops, service centres, MOT providers, depots and mobile inspections.
